The VP, Account Development is the
ultimate business owner and manager accountable for clients
designated to his or her portfolio. The VP serves two principal
functions in support of the Companys growth and development
objectives. First, this executive is responsible for the
successful launch of new programs. This responsibility covers
both the implementation of "standard" or mature
products, as well as the coordination of activity between
clients/partners and internal resources for programs in which
custom development is required. These responsibilities are met
through direct interactions with clients/partners and Company
staff, as well as through the efforts of other Account Managers
and Project Managers that are managed by the VP. Second, this
executive is responsible for the development and ongoing
management of client and partner relationships, from a revenue
growth and operational perspective. As part of this
responsibility, the VP works to identify new business and revenue
growth opportunities by facilitating the scaling of existing
programs, the launch of new programs with existing clients, or
the usage of additional services.
Principal
Activities/Responsibilities:
- Applying project management
tools and processes to manage diverse resources, both
direct reports and other, and ensure successful program
implementations.
- Proactively identifying and
avoiding potential client problems, as well as
opportunities to provide clients with additional
value-adding services.
- Formulating creative
solutions to client issues and delivering them to clients
while assessing risk and providing contingency plans.
- Developing successful client
relationships by regularly working directly with all
project stakeholders to ensure that the highest level of
customer service.
- Continually improving Account
Development department efficiency and effectiveness by
clearly defining roles and responsibilities of employees,
deploying appropriate management tools and systems, and
ensuring appropriate staffing and employee skill sets.
- Leading the formulation of
new policies and procedures to improve interactions with
other departments.
- Designing departmental
performance measurement systems and providing regular
performance updates and reporting to senior management.
- Working proactively with
clients to define and realize new revenue and service
opportunities through a structured, regular joint
planning process.
- Providing certain forms of
program definition, implementation, and technical support
to business development staff during sales cycle.
- Providing support to Product
Development to ensure identification and successful
design, development and deployment of new products or
product enhancements.
- Working with EVP, Account
Development to identify and prioritize infrastructure
development and other software development initiatives.
Developing measurement tools to optimize the use of
limited development resources against stated development
objectives.
- Developing procedures and
managing the transmission of billing information
(transaction fees, software development, program set-up
fees) to Accounting department.

Requirements: |
| |
- Four-year university degree,
preferably with some background in business
administration and information technology.
- Experience in the payment
card industry considered a plus, but not required.
- Highly developed leadership
and organization skills, with strong foundation of
analytical aptitude and appropriate attention to detail
and follow-up.
- Demonstrated experience and
success in building and managing an organization of at
least 6-8 individuals.
- Ability and predisposition to
use conceptual skills to recognize problems,
opportunities and underlying patterns and relationships.
- Ability to tolerate and
manage ambiguity and continuous change.
- Prefer background with some
international exposure and demonstrated success in
interacting with people of varied cultures and
backgrounds.
- Very strong written and
verbal communication skills.
- Strong background in project
management, including extensive knowledge of project
management tools and processes, with demonstrable record
of success in managing multiple staff and concurrent
complex projects.
- Self-directed individual with
high level of energy and stamina, able to simultaneously
manage multiple competing tasks.
- Ability to work effectively
with all levels of internal and client organizations.
- Extensive Internet skills, to
include knowledge of browsers and other Internet software
applications and terminology.
- Excellent computer skills,
including strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel,
Project, and PowerPoint applications. Ability to learn
other (including proprietary) applications quickly.
- Demonstrating selling or
business development skills within existing client
relationships.
- Ability to travel no more
than 15% of time, if required.
