Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities,
such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits,
training, and employee services by performing the following duties
personally or through subordinate supervisors:
- Develop and administer an effective recruitment program.
- Prepare, recommend and maintain records/procedures for
controlling human resources transactions and reporting human resources
data.
- Directly interact with legal counsel on potential harassment,
discrimination and termination issues.
- Ensure line managers are properly equipped with the needed skills
to implement and maintain sound employee/employer relationships.
- Designs human resources forms and direct the maintenance of human
resources records by all departments.
- Responsible for developing training curriculum. Design, delivery,
and administer programs and measure the results of curriculum.
- Proposes, publishes, and administers human resources
policies.
- Conducts wage and salary surveys.
- Negotiates and manage a competitive benefits program.
- Monitors unemployment claims and manages appeal process.
- Manages and monitors performance appraisal programs.
- Monitors workers' compensation claims and work between employee
and insurance carrier.
Supervisory
Responsibilities
Directly supervises 3 employees in Human Resources. Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems. |

Requirements: |
| |
- Eight (8) years' managerial and supervisory experience in public
or private human resources management.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in human resources management or
directly relevant degree.
- Ability to speak fluent Spanish, Creole a plus
- SHRM Certified Senior Professional (SPHR) preferred.
- Knowledge of Human Resource & Payroll systems; Spreadsheet
software and Word Processing software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the
public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,
interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, ratios and volume. Ability
to
apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
