This position will be responsible for the planning, development,
implementation and administration of a comprehensive management
information system primarily for our brokerage firm and provide support
to the rest of the group's companies.
Key functions and responsibilities include:
- Ensure alignment of Information System requirements with
business units' priorities.
- Identify and introduce e-business technology to existing and
potential business applications.
- Design and improve the overall Information Systems infrastructure
aiming to optimize enterprise-wide information resources and integrate
applications as efficiently as possible.
- Acquire thorough knowledge of the business applications
within each business unit and department.
- Work jointly with the Software Development area in designing new
system applications, identifying performance and operational indicators
for EIS and reporting purposes, and improving the information content
and usefulness of all IS applications.
- Establish close relationships with the key internal clients and
users of information to gather their specific requirements.
- Consult and provide advice to IT customers on best practices and
most efficient alternatives for their information needs via
custom-developed or proprietary solutions.
- Implement multi-dimensional analysis tools to determine business
units' financial performance and productivity, including profitability
by client/broker/office and segmentation and trends analyses.
- Perform forecasts of business and operational indicators to
predict critical success factors based on internal and external
economic/financial information.
- Evaluate new system solutions and provide proactive
recommendation on new IS technologies.
- Work closely with the CIO in launching and managing new projects,
and identifying new business opportunities both internally and
externally.
In addition, this position will also be responsible for the
coordination and project management of all IT initiatives including:
- Obtaining frequent input from all IT areas to update our Project
Management application.
- Performing cost/benefit analyses on all new initiatives.
- Developing and implementing cost and revenue indicators to track
and control project financial performance.
- Monitoring and reporting project progress while providing
feedback to IT customers, IT staff and corporate management.
- Implementing process re-engineering to improve the flow of
information and introduce automation where applicable.

Requirements: |
| |
- At least 10 years of experience in the Information
Systems/Technology industry.
- Computer Science or Systems Engineering degree.
- MBA or Graduate level education.
- Financial Services background highly desirable, specifically
within the brokerage industry.
- Working knowledge of Windows 2000, NT, Unix, Sun, or OS
platforms.
- Basic programming skills and understanding of Java, HTML,
XML, SQL, C++
- Other tools: Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project, HEAT
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and EAI
(Enterprise Application Integration) Systems, preferably Oracle and/or
SAP.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) desirable.
