Manages compensation program and employee benefit plans for
organization to attract, retain, and motivate employees by performing
the following duties personally or through staff. Supervises payroll
function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements salary structure and administrative
guidelines in accordance with compensation policy.
- Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate salary level
according to compensation guidelines and policy formulated by VP of
Human Resources.
- Reviews and approves salary increases permitted within budgetary
limits and according to established compensation policies.
- Advises management on compensation actions for employees.
- Analyzes organizational pay practices and makes recommendations for
salary changes to ensure equity.
- Recommends special compensation programs or incentive systems for
all employees or for specific groups to support the organization's
objectives.
- Participates in development and administration of performance
review
system to ensure compliance with salary administration guidelines.
- Plans and directs implementation and administration of employee
benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life
insurance, stock options, workers compensation, employee assistance,
retirement, and other plans.
- Prepares and communicates information to employees and former
employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-
mandated disclosures.
- Analyzes and evaluates services, coverage, and options available
through insurance and investment companies to determine programs best
meeting needs of organization.
- Provides services to employees to answer their benefit questions,
resolve problems related to access to or payment of benefits, orient
newly eligible employees, and process enrollment forms, changes, and
loan requests. Develops and adheres to SLA's for providing responses
to
employees' requests.
- Maintains employee benefits data in automated human resources
information systems.
- Coordinates transfer of data to external vendors, plan providers,
auditors, and consultants.
- Negotiates and contracts with benefit plan providers, vendors,
auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan
administration.
- Recommends benefit plan changes to management.
- Prepares and submits government-mandated reports.
- Audits benefit plans for compliance with government regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of and analyzes government regulations, benefit
program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations.
- Supervises payroll function and acts as backup for payroll
processing.
- Directs and supervises work of human resources clerk.
- Consults with managers and health care professionals to evaluate
the
need for, develop, and implement accommodations, return-to-work, light-
duty, and other responses for disabled employees.
- Provides accurate reports to senior management and accounting dept
on both a regular and as needed basis.

Requirements: |
| |
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR) a plus.
- Must have experience with HRIS software and ADP payroll and
timekeeping systems or similar payroll software.
