The Vice President of Sales is responsible for directing the
Sales functions for the division. This person leads and directs
the work of the Sales functions to include International Sales,
Mass Market Sales and Wholesale Sales. The primary responsibility
of this role is to develop a sales plan to fulfill the profitable
growth and revenue goals of the division and to ensure timely and
consistent sales volumes for the division's products.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide organizational leadership and serve as a change
agent to strengthen Sales management, communications,
accountability, transparency and commitment to team and
organizational excellence
- Develop short and long-term strategic blueprint for
building and maintaining desired customer and market
base.
- Manage account relationships, meet with management of
accounts as appropriate, and participate in annual
meetings, trade shows and conventions.
- Prepare, present and execute programs that will generate
success for the customer and the division.
- Prepares annual sales budget.
- Directs annual budget by product, customer, and
salesperson.
- Monitors actual results vs. budget on a daily, weekly, by
period and annual basis.
- Recommends strategies for areas where sales are below
budget.
- Provide direction to Sales Team(s) as appropriate to
enhance account relationships.
- Work closely with sales teams to ensure that sales
programs are executed as planned.
- Appraises performance of account managers and provides
feedback and coaching to enhance/develop sales skills.
- Superior negotiator that can fairly defend selling value
and not solely price.
- Provide leadership in both concept and execution for new
product, packaging, and promotional efforts.
- Oversee organizational changes to align staff with
shifting sales and marketing focus.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations
to the president to assist in formulating company
business strategy.
- Serve as relationship contact for key accounts/events.
- Assess industry and market tendencies and trends to
search for opportunities to differentiate our business
from the competition.
- Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of
carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
- Challenges accepted industry norms and standards to
improve sales accountabilities and services consistent
with customer expectations.

Requirements: |
| |
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales
and Marketing or related field required and ten or more
years of relevant managerial experience. Master's
degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and attain results
through others.
- Proven success leading sales teams.
- Broad and deep financial skill set; accounting and
financial analysis skills required.
- Superior strategic, analytical and critical
decision-making and project management abilities.
- Prior work experience in commodity and/or consumer
product business desirable.
- Superior communicator; oral/written/presentation who can
articulate messages/vision to a wide variety of audience.
- Skilled negotiator and facilitator.
- Managerial style that is directional, motivating,
supportive, ethical, and aligns to Company and business
objectives.
- Role will require travel as needed to develop stronger
relationships with key customers and prospective
accounts.
- Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
