Reports To: Vice President of Sales - Wholesale
The Director of Sales will be responsible for reviewing market
analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price
schedules,
and discount rates, and develop sales campaigns to meet the Company's
sales budget. Maintains and improves company's competitive position
through product planning, consumer and industry research.
Builds, develops, and manages sales team to achieve established
goals.
Directs the approach, execution and follow-up of customer sales and
new customer accounts with Business Development Manager and Account
Managers.
Confers with sales team to provide marketing and technical advice.
Reviews top account situation analyzes within Sales team structure
with the purpose of maximizing sales revenues and strategic
relationships.
Supports new and existing accounts by developing specific programs
to ensure optimum sales.
Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales
distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Directs annual budget by product, customer, and salesperson.
Monitors actual results vs. budget on a daily, weekly, by period and
annual basis. Recommends strategies for areas where sales are below
budget.
Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate
unprofitable items from sales lines.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with
Account Managers.
Provides top quality customer service to all internal and external
customers. Promotes the concept of "team" approach throughout the
organization.
Responsible for monitoring product inventory to ensure levels meet
current and future sales projections.
Represents the Company at account and industry events, as
appropriate.
Responsible for the preparation and management of the Wholesale
Sales department operational budget including travel and entertainment
expenses. Responsible for keeping expenses below budgeted values.
Appraises performance of account managers and provides feedback and
coaching to enhance/develop sales skills.
Coordinates all sales activities with sales managers in other
locations.
Directs the development and implementation of incentive and
motivational sales programs for Account Managers.
Prepares sales reports showing sales volume, gross profit, and
potential sales.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Business Development Manager and
Sales Manager positions will report to the Director of Sales. The
Director of Sales will also have 16 Sales Associates indirectly
reporting to this position.

Requirements: |
| |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration,
Sales and Marketing or related field.
- Proven success leading sales teams.
- Broad and deep financial skill set; accounting and financial
analysis skills required.
- Superior strategic, analytical and critical decision-making and
project management abilities.
- Seven + years of relevant managerial experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of wholesale sales market and customers
- Superior communicator; oral/written/presentation who can articulate
messages/vision to a wide variety of audience.
- Skilled negotiator and facilitator.
- Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
- Managerial style that is directional, motivating, supportive,
ethical, and aligns to Company and business objectives.
- Role will require travel of up to 20% of the year both domestically
and internationally.
