Incumbent will be providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 product support to
regional customers, internal organizations, support groups and/or
distributors. Primary job responsibilities will include the following:
- Through knowledge with TCP/IP protocols and IP stack
implementations.
- Familiarity with network authentication protocols including PAP,
CHAP, and MS-CHAP.
- Through knowledge in communications networking and systems
including
Dial-Up.
- Troubleshoot customer network communications issues by using
diagnostic equipment.
- Provide network systems and/or communications training to
customers,
VIP's (International Partners) and employees.
- Assist and/or perform installations of POS (Point-of-Sale) products
and solutions.
- Troubleshoot field network solutions including VeriCentre or other
remote application download controllers/concentrators.
- Provide technical support to VIP's and Customers throughout LAC
region.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers
and
VIP's technical staff.
- Keeps abreast of new technology and informs the region of technical
advancements.
- Diagnose software and hardware failures and trouble shoot errors
accordingly.
- Train other staff members as well as external entities on diverse
topics, including hardware repair.
- Test and run certification process for products with wireless
communications including GPRS, CDMA and other evolving technologies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: |
| |
- Requires Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems
Engineering, Computer Science or their equivalent work related
experience.
- This position requires minimum 5-7 years networking experience in
communications related field.
- Requires knowledge with TCP/IP functionality and IP stack protocols
and authentication protocols PAP, CHAP.
- Familiarity with communications equipment including multiplexers,
routers, and switches.
- Knowledge of Hypercom NAC and/or SmartNet equipment is a definite
advantage.
- Use of test equipment such as LAN/WAN protocol analyzers and data-
scopes.
- Ability to excel in a teamwork environment with emphasis to
help
the region succeed.
- Knowledge and experience with modem operation including familiarity
with Hayes AT commands, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
- Hardware and software knowledge of communication equipment is an
advantage.
- Experience working in a customer-facing or customer-service
organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and
build support for your ideas within cross-functional departments.
- Ability and experience providing technical support to customers.
- Ability to learn and apply hardware repair procedures.
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish is
required.
- Approximately 30% international and domestic travel is required.
- Flexible to travel as required with short notice.
- Applicant must meet requirements to obtain USA Passport.
- Applicant must meet requirements to obtain Travel Visa(s) as
required for travel in USA, Central and South America for attending
business meetings, trainings and company events.
