Essential functions: Directs sales and distribution, including subscription sales, newsstand distribution, as well as complimentary distribution for promotional purposes. Develops budget, considering not only expenses for marketing campaigns but also total potential revenue according to proportion of moneys received from various types of sales and from offerings at different price levels. Works with the publisher to make sure long-range planning for circulation is in line with the editorial focus of the magazine for a targeted market segment. Works with the promotion manager to develop effective campaigns to increase circulation while controlling costs of acquiring new readers. Supervises clerical staff in maintaining accurate subscriber records to ensure correct and prompt delivery, proper maintenance of prior subscriber lists for new sales promotions, or rental of lists to direct marketers. Supervises newsstand distribution channels to make sure that operations are conducted efficiently and accurate records are maintained.   Requirements:   Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related subject. An M.B.A. would be highly desirable. Five years of experience in marketing, with at least three years involving circulation in the publishing field. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
